<p>Gunnar Bråthen greide det igjen og ble Nordic Champion i Larvik 31. mai 2008. Gunnar stilte på scenen 4 kg tyngere og med 2% mindre kroppsfett enn i 2007. Mer kan man ikke forlange enten man er 40 eller 60 år som Gunnar. Bildet viser Gunnars beste muskelgrupper. Han må jobbe med ben og nedre rygg for å matche konkurrentene internasjonalt, og høyst sannsynlig er en pallplass i VM innen rekkevidde i løpet av 2 år og en VM tittel i 2012-13.</p>

I den kategorien finnes det altfor mange inaktive og overvektige som sliter med form og helse. Saken er hvordan skal vi greie å knekke koden? Hvordan skal vi få en inaktiv sofasliter til å få tillit til det vi vet virker? For å få resultater, som igjen er motiverende nok til å fortsette, snakker vi om en livsstilsendring. Det handler om at den enkelte har tilstrekkelig vilje til å gjennomføre dette og som regel så venter desverre de fleste så lenge at de får &#8220;kniven på strupen&#8221; av sin fastlege.</p>
<p><span id="more-17"></span>La oss kort se litt på hvilke fordeler og forbedringer den enkelte kan forvente seg. Fysisk trening og da helst vekttrening øker muskelmassen, som i igjen øker metabolismen, altså forbrenningen. Men trening er ikke nok, en endring av kostholdet er også nødvendig. Omleggingen består i hovedsak i en økning av proteinrik mat samt reduksjon av sukker og stivelse, samt mettet fett. For de som gjennomfører denne omleggingen kan rapportere om økt muskelstyrke, redusert vekt, bedret kondisjon, bedret humør og tiltakslyst. Videre vet vi også at fysisk trening stimulerer hormonene i kroppen og i sin tur kan bedre sexlivet for mange. Summen av dette bør være tilstrekkelig for nok motivasjon!</p>

I 2003 bestemte jeg meg for at jeg skulle gjøre comeback etter min siste konkurranse som var NM 1985. Gunnar la merke til min seriøse satsing og ble mer og mer nysgjerrig på hva kroppsbygging egentlig handlet om.</p>

<p>Dette har resultert i at Gunnar har bestemt seg for å satse på NM for veteraner i 2008, i en alder av 61 år. Dette er særdeles uvanlig men absolutt mulig. Det krever imidlertid en nærmest fanatisk satsing fremover med knallhard trening, et sunt kosthold med minimum 5 måltider pr. dag. Proteinrikt sådan.</p>
<p>Min jobb blir å følge Gunnar opp med alt dette. Etter en grundig gjennomgang av Gunnars kosthold og nødvendige justeringer i treningsprogram har Gunnar 20 måneder foran seg frem til NM 2008.</p>
